● Faulty thermostat: When we're called out to check a faulty air-conditioner, the thermostat is one of the first components we test. This is because the thermostat is responsible for regulating the temperature, and if it doesn't work, your A/C won't work properly either.
● Frozen evaporator coils: Evaporator coils need a free flow of air to work efficiently. When the air filters and condenser coils are dirty or clogged, this can cause condensation, leading to the coils freezing up. When this happens, the cooling won't be as efficient in your house. One of the signs this could be happening is puddles of water under the unit. This is because the condensation drain pan will start overflowing.
● Dirty condenser coils: Clogged condenser coils can prevent the heated or cooled air from moving through efficiently, and over time, this may force the A/C to switch off. We'll make sure to remove all the dust and debris from these coils during our servicing.
● Dirty air filters: Checking the air filters is another must-do on our list when an air-conditioner no longer works optimally. When the air filters are dirty or clogged, they can cause a host of problems throughout the unit since free-flowing air is needed to keep all the components in good working condition.
